¡Hola!

I’m at the intersection of UX Research and Ethical AI, where my focus on bringing technology to people and helping businesses thrive meets my commitment to creating responsible, inclusive technology.

My full name is Melanie Gómez Mogollón, but people have always called me Mela (meh-lah); my pronouns are She/Her/Ella, and my story begins in Colombia, where I grew up and went to school for graphic design. After graduating, I decided to have a full-on cultural experience and moved to the United States.

I have 12 years of experience working in tech companies, starting as a visual designer and, for the last 5 years, specializing as a UX Designer/Researcher.

I have experience working on the end-to-end lifecycle of a product, collaborating in agile, cross-functional teams, and turning qualitative and quantitative results into delightful experiences.

In addition, I hold a master's in Responsible AI from Elisava School in Barcelona, where I further developed my passion for integrating ethical technology with user-centered design.

As a UX Researcher, I’m motivated by the opportunity to improve people's interactions with technology by deeply understanding their needs and behaviors. Through research, iteration, and testing, I help uncover insights that solve user frustrations, increase business value, and simplify complexities to create seamless, user-centered experiences for everyone.

In my free time, I enjoy being in nature, drawing, painting, hanging with friends, my cat Teh-Teh, and learning about wellness and sustainability.
